The Blair Project is a youth-led social enterprise which uses a powerful combination of motorsport and digital manufacturing to enthuse disaffected young people (aged 14-25) to pursue careers in the fast growth science, engineering, technology and digital sectors. We believe that every child matters!
We are providers of vocational and technical training in digital technologies and manufacturing which makes young people want to learn. We like to work with them in a way that recognizes and builds on their strengths and potential, and boosts their educational achievement and attainment.
We nurture and grow their confidence, aspirations and ambition to generate hi-tech results and help them transition onto a traineeship or apprenticeship as well as further/higher education.
Our current programmes include the ProtoGP Schools Kart Challenge which gives pupils the unique opportunity to computer design, 3D print and construct their own racing karts before testing and racing them at Three Sisters Racing Circuit in Wigan.
Our MakerSpace Camps help young people to become digital entrepreneurs and earn money by designing and making their own products using 3D printers.
And our ProtoGP Racing offers opportunities for talented young drivers, mechanics and engineers from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop their careers in motorsport through championship racing with National Schools Karting Association or NatSKA, which are held at circuits around the UK.
